ViaDirect has introduced its 3D wayfinding solution in the Singapore « new generation » shopping mall Oasis Terraces.
Officially inaugurated February 17 2019 with a ceremony, but opened to the public in June 2018, the Oasis Terraces introduces in Singapore a new generation of shopping mall labelled « Neighborhood Center ».
ViaDirect is then happy to support this new mall formula with its wayfinding software solution through a vertical kiosk set up in front of the main central escalators of the Oasis Terraces.
Built in the North-East region of Singapore in the residential area of Punggol rehabilitated since 2007, the Oasis Terraces distinguished itself from other malls with an architecture turned toward the sky, the Punggol Waterway and the neighborhood population.
The 7 floors complex with its vegetated rooftops and terraces includes a polyclinic and a childcare center.
This is also the first mall Singapore built with « smart » and sustainable features. Solar panels are on the rooftops, rainwater is reused to water plants in the center, and building lightings are activated thanks to motion-sensors. The Oasis Terraces also shelters an Entrepreneurial cluster.
The Oasis Terraces is proprietary to the Singapore government’s Housing of Development Board (HDB), a statutory board of the Ministry of National Development.
In charge of the development of public housing since 1960 to answer the urgent need of decent housings at the time, the Minister for National Development, Lawrence Wong, explained that the Oasis Terraces was first designed for social objective and to « strengthen family bonds and facilitate community integration » thanks, notably, to centralized retails and services.
Five other « Neighborhood Centers » should open in the following three years, says the Housing and Development Board, among them, two this year 2019.
The Oasis Terraces ViaDirect installation has been done in coordination with Ascenstar, Singapore partner since 2016. The set consists of one 43’’ vertical kiosk with many interactive services signed by ViaDirect (full details on the right).
