The Doha City Center is located in the heart of the Doha business district in West Bay, Qatar. The 5-storey mall has around 370 regional and international retailers such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Colombia and many others, as well as restaurants and leisure facilities such as a cinema, bowling alley and ice rink.
A major shopping center in the region, it is 25 minutes from Hamad International Airport and is connected to three international hotels, the Shangri-La Doha, Marriot Marquis Hotel and Rotana City Centre Hotel. In addition, being accessible by bus, metro, taxi and car, the mall, owned by the subsidiary Aamal Compagny Q.P.S.C, is the country’s leading retail and leisure destination, attracting over 70,000 visitors during the holiday season.
In order to satisfy all of its visitors, the shopping center has numerous services such as health and safety facilities. Since 2014 it has also implemented the ViaDirect digital wayfinding and information solution, thanks to our partner Elan Decaux.
At that time, 8 tactile wayfinding kiosks were installed on each level of the center to facilitate the orientation of its visitors. It was adjusted to the dimensions and characteristics of the huge shopping malls in the Middle East.
After many years, the kiosks are still installed in the mall, but the center has been able to benefit from the latest version of the ViaDirect wayfinding software. The software version has been optimised in order to meet the different expectations and to renovate the design of the functionalities and the interface.
